Google is working on a big new redesign for Gmail. The company today sent out an email to G Suite admins, announcing the upcoming updates. After Google introduced Inbox, the company has long neglected Gmail’s development, especially on the web. Gmail still doesn’t include a modern Material Design interface and lacks a lot of the “modern” emailing features.

But with the new “fresh, clean look” for Gmail on the web, all of that will change. Google says the new Gmail will give users easy access to other G Suite apps such as Google Calendar (similar to how Outlook lets you access Mail and Calendar easily). Google is also bringing Gmail’s popular Smart Reply feature on mobile to the web, which will help users be more productive with A.I-powered smart replies for emails. Google says the update will also bring offline support, as well as the ability to snooze emails, a popular feature found on many third-party email clients. The company is yet to reveal how the new design actually looks, but it shouldn’t look too different from last year’s leak that revealed the design.

“We’re working on some major updates to Gmail (they’re still in draft phase). We need a bit more time to compose ourselves, so can’t share anything yet—archive this for now, and we’ll let you know when it’s time to hit send,” a Google spokesperson told us.

Google will be releasing the new Gmail as part of a beta program, the Early Adopter Program, or EAP for short. EAP will be available to G Suite users in the coming weeks, and it will likely take a few months before the new Gmail is available to all users.
