Windows 7 & Vista
From the Start Menu, select Control Panel.
Under Programs click the Uninstall a Program link.
Select the program you wish to remove and right click then select Uninstall/Change.
Follow the prompts to finish the uninstallation of the software.
Windows XP
From the Start Menu, select Control Panel.
Click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
Select the program you wish to remove and click on the “Remove” or “Change/Remove” button.
Follow the prompts to finish the uninstallation of the software.
Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, and XP in Classic View
From the Start Menu, select Settings, and then Control Panel.
Double-click the “Add/Remove Programs” icon.
Select the program you wish to remove and click on the “Remove” or “Change/Remove” button.
Follow the prompts to finish the uninstallation of the software.
How to disable and uninstall a browser add-on or extension
Internet Explorer
Go to your Tools Menu and select Internet Options.
Under Programs, click the Manage add-ons button.
Select the add-on you wish to disable and then click Disable at the bottom of the page.
Click OK.
Firefox
Go to and select your Tools menu.
Within your Tools menu, select Add-Ons.
Go to the add-on you wish to disable, and click on the item to select and highlight the add-on.
Click the Disable or Uninstall button.
Chrome
Go to and select your Tools menu.
Within your Tools menu, select Extensions.
Go to the add-on you wish to disable, and choose either Disable or Uninstall.
How to restore your home page
Internet Explorer
Go to your Tools Menu and select Internet Options.
Look for the Home page section under the General tab.
In the box, type the home page you would like to restore.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
FireFox
Go to and select your Tools Menu
Look for the Startup section under the General tab.
Choose Show my home page in the When FireFox starts: area.
In the box, type in the home page you would like to restore.
Click OK.
Chrome
Go to your Tools Menu and select Settings.
Look for the On startup section and select Open a specific page or set of pages
Select Set pages
A box will come up, where you can type in the home page you would like to restore.
You can remove any pages by clicking the “X” on the right side of the box.
Click OK.
How to restore your default search engine
Internet Explorer
Go to your Tools Menu and select Internet Options.
Look for the Search section under the General tab.
Click Settings
Find your preferred search engine name in the list and click the Set as default button.
If the search engine name is not listed, add it by clicking on the Find more search providers… link.
You can removed any unwanted search engine from the list by highlighting the name and clicking Remove.
Click Close.
Click OK.
FireFox
Open your FireFox browser.
Type about:config in the address bar and press enter.
Click “I’ll be careful, I promise!”
In the Search bar, type browser.search.defaultenginename
Right click on browser.search.defaultenginename and click Modify
In the box, type in the search engine you would like to restore.
Click OK.
Chrome
Go to your Tools Menu and select Settings.
Look for the Search section and select Open a specific page or set of pages
Select Manage search engines…
A box will come up, where you can choose what search engine you would like to restore.
Highlight your choice and click Make Default.
You can add a different search engine by typing it in the “Add new search engine” box at the bottom.
You can remove any search engines by clicking the “X” on the right side of the box.
Click OK.
