Meridio is a small assemblage of artisans who hand-make leather bands for Apple Watch in an ancient tannery in Tuscany. (The region’s capital, Florence, is particularly famous for its leather production.)
The company seeks to combine the practicality and innovation of the Apple Watch with the inherent quality of Italian leather manufacturing.
Apple Watch bands handmade in Italy
Bands in Meridio’s Vintage Collection are made from supple and elastic Nappa calf’s leather that is meticulously tanned and cut. Nappa leather is a particularly soft and practical material that develops a beautiful patina over time.
Coordinating stitching highlights the rich leather of the straps. The bands themselves have a subtle heft to it — I can feel the quality in workmanship and materials.
This particular leather Apple Watch band comes in four different-colored leathers: Arctic Night (deep blue), Colonial Red, Dried Herb, Smoked Walnut and Touchstone (deep gray), all with complementary stitching.
