Media discovery

If you’re the kind of person who has a lot of photos, music, or videos on your computer, you know how cluttered and unorganized it can get. The FCU wants to solve that problem by making Windows 10 recognize folders with 30 or more media files in them.

When you open up the respective Windows Universal App (Photos, Groove Music, etc.) and try to add a folder, your computer should recommend new folders that contain 30 or more files. One big caveat to this fantastic sounding feature: It’s not automatic.

In order for Windows to recognize a media folder and suggest its addition, a storage scan has to be performed, and that requires direct interaction. You have to open Settings, click on System, then Storage, then the bar at the top with your drive capacity on it. Then scroll to the bottom and click Refresh. Now open the app, try to add a folder, and it should pick it up.

Great feature, cumbersome application.
