The guy that developed Battlestar Galactica for TV is teaming up with Apple for an all-new sci-fi TV series.

Apple has reportedly inked a deal with Ronald D. Moore that will see the sci-fi TV producer bring his next series exclusively to Apple. The project is being created in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and Moore’s studio-based Tall Ship Productions.

According to a report from Variety, Moore will create the series and serve as writer. Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi Moore created the series and will serve as a writer along with Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi who were co-executive producers on Fargo.

The new sci-fi TV show will supposedly take place in a world where the global space race between Russia and the United States never ended.

This will be the third original series ordered by Apple. The company recently greenlit a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” series. A newsroom drama TV show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reece Witherspoon is the company’s second show in the works.

Ronald Moore is currently the showrunner on the hit Starz series “Outlander.” He also has writing credits for the Star Trek series The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. No other details about his TV show for Apple have been announced at this time so we likely won’t see it until the end of 2018 or 2019.
