Get ready to dive into the lifestyles of the rich and fabulous for Apple’s new TV show that just got the green light.
Apple has reportedly given a straight-to-series order for a new docuseries called “Home” that will explore some of the most extravagant houses in the world and the minds that made them.
The initial order is for 10 episodes that will be about an hour long each, according to a report from Variety. “Home” is being created by Matt Tyrnauer and Corey Reeser of Altimeter Films. Time Inc. Productions, and Media Weaver Entertainment are also producers on the project.
Apple is planning to make a big push into original content in 2018 by spending over $1 billion to create TV shows, movies and documentaries for its platforms. The company has already ordered three new series: a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” series, a TV show starring Jennifer Anniston and Reece Witherspoon, and a sci-fi space drama from the guy behind Battlestar Galactica.
With Apple’s status in the tech world, it could open up some interesting doors to some amazing houses besides the usual celebrity and musician fodder you’re used to seeing on MTV Cribs. One can only hope we’ll get a tour of Jony Ive’s mansion or a peek at Jeff Bezos’ estate.
Of course, no official release date or announcement of the show has been made by Apple yet.
