After being around since 2002, the Apple photo printing service is going away.

Mac users can still print pictures from the Photos app to Apple’s online Photo Print Products service, but only for a couple of more weeks. It’s being discontinued at the end of September.

iPhone and iPad users, there’s nothing to see here. This service never made the jump to iOS.

People on macOS High Sierra 10.3.6 (which just debuted this week) who use the service are being told that final orders need to be placed by September 30.

New Apple photo printing option

This doesn’t mean that it’ll no longer be possible to send pictures to online services for them to be printed. Third-party printing services can work with the Photos app. Shutterfly and others are on that list.

Sending images to be remotely printed by Apple’s Photo Print Products service results in a pop-up box saying “Download a Photos Project Extension from the Mac App Store to create books, cards, calendars and prints, or reprint an existing project. You’ll also discover a variety of new services available through Project Extensions.”
