Apple today updated its Apple Events app for tvOS ahead of its education event on March 27. You’ll be able to watch a recording of the keynote on your Apple TV to see what’s in store — but only after the event has concluded.

There is no livestream this time.

We’ve been waiting for Apple to confirm whether or not we can tune into its Chicago presentation since invites were issued last week. Although the event is focused on education, we’re expecting a number of announcements that will prove exciting for all.

Apple won’t livestream its March 27 event

Sadly, it’s bad news. An update to the Apple Events app for tvOS confirms we will get to enjoy a  recording of the keynote, which will be hosted at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois — but only “after it concludes.”

Recent reports have suggested the event will bring us an updated MacBook Air with a Retina display and a more affordable price tag. We’re also expecting an even cheaper 9.7-inch iPad that will support Apple Pencil. It could be the first non-Pro iPad with Pencil support.

It’s not clear why Apple won’t be streaming the event. We’ve been able to enjoy all of its most recent keynotes in real-time. It could have something to do with the fact that this one’s being held in a high school, which may not have the infrastructure required for streaming.

Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to go without real-time updates. Cult of Mac is attending the event, and we’ll be bringing you all the news as it breaks.
