Apple’s 2018 iPhone plans reportedly include three models launching this September. One will be an upgraded version of the iPhone X, but the other two are more interesting. They’re months away from being announced, but a new render shows what both might look like.

The 6.5-inch version on the left has been called the iPhone X Plus, as it’s larger than last year’s 5.8-inch one. In the artist’s concept image, it sits next to a 6.1-inch iPhone that, unfortunately, might not look like this.

Possibly too much to hope for

Rumors indicate the larger device will use an OLED display, like the first-generation iPhone X. The 6.1-inch version, on the other hand, will supposedly include a traditional LCD. This means its screen won’t appear a vivid as the other two devices Apple is expected to release.

And it will almost certainly need a “chin.” The screen in original iPhone X  runs completely edge-to-edge because it folds under at the bottom, where it connects to the display controller. LCD screens can’t bend like this, so there’ll have to be room at the bottom of this 2018 iPhone for the display controller. 

All that said, respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts this LED version will cost much less than the other two: between $600 and $700. By contrast, the 6.5-inch iPhone is predicted to be between $900 and $1,000, while the 5.8-inch model will come in between $800 and $900.

The new images come from MySmartPrice and Steve Hemmerstoffe of @OnLeaks, who repeatedly tout them as the most accurate available. They aren’t the only ones creating concept images of the 2018 iPhone models, though.
