Bookbook CaddySack organizes your Mac’s chargers and dongles

TwelveSouth’s Bookbook Caddysack might sound like the babble of a sugared-up two-year-old, but it is in fact a super-handy gadget bag for travelers, or folks who spend a lot of time not at home or the office. It’s a little case that’s designed to hold all the chargers and other accessories you need for your various Apple devices.

Get organized

Keeping your stuff organized when you travel is a great idea. It stops you from leaving things behind at your AirBnB, and if you pack everything in individual, themed parcels, then you won’t take forever to repack your bag after the TSA calls you out to rummage through your underwear. Packing cubes are the answer for clothes, and even act as a protective “drawer-within-a drawer” to protect your clothes from hotel-room cooties. And for gadget accessories, an organizer is essential.

Let’s get the Bookbook Caddysack’s cheesy gimmick out of the way first. When zipped shut, it looks like the kind of dusty old book you ignore in the bookstore. It is bound in embossed leather, with gold lettering, and is therefore guaranteed to stand out like a keyboard solo if you try to hide it on a bookshelf.

The inside is another story. It’s all elastic bands, velcro, and fabric-lined surfaces. There are custom-made spots for a MacBook charging brick, earbuds, Lightning cables, and whichever dongles you have most recently bought to replace the functionality Apple removed from the iPhone or Mac. It is, in short, quite a neat little box, and it will cost you $50.

If you’re looking for a cheap and capable alternative, check out the Muji Hanging Travel Case, an organizer meant for toiletries, but also perfect for chargers and widgets. It’s just $18, and has elastic loops, pockets, and even a hook to hang it up. I’ve used one for years and years, and it’s fantastic. It has one big advantage over the Bookbook Caddysack, too (other than the price) — it’s soft, so if it isn’t full, it will squish to better squeeze into a full suitcase.
