HomePod orders are now “preparing for shipment” one week after Apple kicked off sales. Customers who have already claimed their device are seeing their credit cards charged ahead of the speaker’s February 9 launch.

HomePod makes its debut in the U.S., the U.K., and Australia. You can still place orders for launch day delivery through the Apple online store, which suggests the device hasn’t attracted quite as much demand as we were anticipating.

Those who have already placed an order are seeing their shipping status updated to “preparing for shipment” today. Some, mostly those in the U.K., are also seeing its $349 price tag charged to their credit cards. The next step in the process will see orders “shipped.”

If your order status hasn’t been updated yet, don’t worry; there’s still a full week to go before HomePod makes its official debut. It’s likely the speaker won’t start shipping until early next week.

HomePod really is the superior audio experience Apple promised, according to those who have been lucky enough to try the device. Its sound quality is excellent, and unrivaled by other speakers in its price range. Most say it’s a steal at $349.

And yet, HomePod is yet to sell out on the Apple online store. It’s unclear how many were available for launch — recent reports suggested there wouldn’t be a lot — which could indicate that HomePod isn’t a massive seller just yet.

If indeed that is the case, Apple could bring HomePod to more markets (France and Germany are next in line) sooner than expected.
