Details on the battery and RAM packed into iPhone X have been revealed ahead of its launch this November.

Apple has registered the device with Chinese regulator TENAA, and its filing confirms the specifics the company doesn’t normally share with the public.

Apple likes to keep certain details about its latest devices under wraps. It doesn’t disclose things that it believes might be confusing, or the vast majority of its customers don’t need to know. But they always come out in the end.

Usually, we have to wait for its devices to be torn open by the likes of iFixit to find out certain things. But that’s not the case for iPhone X, which just turned up in a regulatory filing with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The filing confirms that Apple’s exciting new handset will carry a 2,716mAh battery and 3GB of RAM. That makes its battery bigger than those packed into iPhone 8 and even iPhone 8 Plus, which carry 1,821mAh and 2,675mAh cells respectively.

The RAM capacity matches that of iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus. It’s much lower than that of Android-powered rivals, which are now available with as much as 8GB of RAM, but Apple’s hardware and software is famously more efficient than Google’s.

In fact, early benchmarks prove that iPhone 8 blows competing rivals out of the water when it comes to sheer performance. It’s also faster than any iPad Pro.
