Make your own WWDC 2018 3D model

The WWDC2018 logo looks 3D. How about a 3D model of it?

Martin Hajek is best known for producing beautiful renders of rumored iPhones, but he came up with something different today: a 3D model of the logo for Apple’s upcoming developer conference. Not a render — an actual model that can be held in your hands.

The logo for this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference is a white-on-white collection of objects, so it lends itself well to 3D printers.

Hajek is offering the 3D model kit on Shapeways for $75.70. The parts will then be shipped to you. You’ll need to print out the background on any printer using the pattern he supplies, though. When assembled, the logo will be the size of an A4 or letter-size piece of paper, depending on which you use for the background.

It won’t look quite like this video from Hajek, but you get the idea:

The real WWDC 2018

The actual WWDC 2018 kicks off June 4 with a keynote address from Tim Cook and Co. The highlight is rumored to be the unveiling of iOS 12, though the actual release likely won’t come until fall.

Also on the docket will be watchOS 5 and tvOS 12, according to rumors. Another high point could be the second-generation iPhone SE. A dark horse possibility is a new iPad Pro with Face ID and a bezel-less design.
