Microsoft Releases First Windows 10 19H1 Build to Insiders

Posted July 25, 2018 | 19H1 | Redstone 5 | Skip Ahead | Windows | Windows 10 | Windows 10 19H1 | Windows Insiders

Microsoft has just kicked off the testing of Windows 10’s next major release: 19H1. The company is getting closer to the public release of Redstone 5, and it has now started working towards the next update for Windows 10, scheduled to arrive in the first half of 2019.

The company today released two new builds: the first 19H1 build, 18204, to Insiders in Skip Ahead, and Redstone 5 build 17723 to Insiders in the Fast Ring. Both the builds include the same new features, so there aren’t a lot or any difference between the two as of yet.

With the new update to Windows 10, Microsoft is adding a new “Flashlight” feature to Windows Mixed Reality which can be used by users to peek into the real world without taking off their headset. This uses the built-in cameras of your device and allows you to see what’s happening with the real-world without you having to take off the headset which is really neat.

The firm is also adding a number of new emojis to the OS with Emoji 11, which includes new redhead emojis, llama, toilet paper, and more. The company is tweaking some of the existing emoji designs too, but there isn’t any major changes there. The latest updates to Windows 10 also includes some other features, such as the new group policies for Edge, Leap Second support, and an intelligent new update system.
