The smart speaker market is suddenly starting to look a lot more crowded.

Sonos has been making some of our favorite wireless speakers for years but it appears that the company is planning to challenge Apple, Amazon, Google and Samsung with its own smart speaker that will also be powered via voice.

Details of Sonos’ upcoming smart speaker have been revealed in an FCC filing unearthed by Zatz Not Funny. According to the documents, the Sonos speaker will blast sound in 360-degrees like the HomePod. However, one of the speaker’s advantages will be support for multiple music streaming services.

“The EUT is 802.11 a/b/g/n (HT20) Client Device. Product model S13 is a high-performance all-in-one wireless smart speaker and part of Sonos’ home sound system. S13 adds integrated voice control functionality with far field microphones. Moreover, the device will support multiple voice platforms and music services, allowing customers to effortlessly control their music on Sonos.”

Sonos’ speaker will allegedly use Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. It’s unclear if it will also support Google Assistant but it’s highly unlikely Apple will let it tap into the power of Siri.

Word of a release date for the speaker hasn’t rumored yet. Considering most of the FCC paperwork is done though, it could come out any week and maybe even beat HomePod to the market.
