Facebook is having a bad time right now. Despite being the world’s most popular social media network, a growing number of people are calling on users to delete their Facebook profiles. This follows the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal, involving the acquisition of data associated with 50 million Facebook profiles.

The latest person who thinks you should cut the Zuckerberg cord? Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, which was bought by Facebook for a massive $16 billion back in 2014.

In a post on Twitter, Acton wrote that “It is time,” and added the hashtag #deletefacebook. Acton, who is worth $6.5 billion, quit his previous job at the Facebook-owned WhatsApp earlier this year, although co-founder Jan Koum continues to run the company.

In a subsequent message, Acton wrote, “Delete and forget. It’s time to care about privacy.”

This week alone, Facebook has been the subject of plenty of unfavorable op-eds, calls to action for regulators, and a decline in its stock price. Prior to the Cambridge Analytica story breaking, Facebook has been criticized for allowing the spread of fake news on its platform. There have also been ongoing concerns about its impact on users.

“We have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works,” former VP for user growth Chamath Palihapitiya told an audience late last year. Palihapitiya advised people to make a “hard break” from social media.
