The first batch of beta software updates for 2018 has already arrived from Apple.

Developers received four new beta updates this morning, including the third build of iOS 11.2.5 which includes a host of bug fixes and performance improvements for the iPhone and iPad.

Registered developers can download the third beta builds of iOS 11.2.5, watchOS 4.2.2, tvOS 11.2.5 and macOS 10.13.3 directly from Apple’s online developer portal. You can also install the updates to test devices via over-the-air updates if you have the previous builds installed.

What’s inside?

iOS 11.2.5 doesn’t appear to contain any major new features or UI changes. Because it’s a “.5” update, it most likely includes some crucial security fixes and minor tweaks. The release notes for the build don’t mention substantial changes.

The only changes reported so far are slightly louder clicks on the dial pad of the Phone app. Other than that, there’s not much to see.

We’ll let you know if we find anything significant once we’ve done some more digging.
